Golden Spike Gem & Mineral Society

Golden Spike Gem & Mineral Society is a non-profit club located in Ogden, Utah. Our members are rock hounds interested in everything from cutting and polishing petrified wood to panning for gold to faceting gemstones. We have an annual show with the best displays, prizes, and demonstrations in Utah as well as field trips to collect materials and guest speakers at our general meetings.

General Meetings are held on the 3rd Wednesday of each month (except April, August, and December) at 7:00 PM at Ogden's George S. Eccles Dinosaur Park, 1544 East Park Boulevard, Ogden, UT 84401. Guests are welcome!

Board Meetings are held on the first Wednesday of the month at 7PM. Club members may request a link to the meeting by emailing Mike Rhodes at Mrmbrhodes0@gmail.com

Fill out a club membership application and mail to: Golden Spike Gem & Mineral Society, PO BOX 12835, OGDEN, UT 84412-2835 with your payment. Membership is paid annually. Payment is required by December 31st.

Mission Statement

The purpose of this Non-Profit Organization is to stimulate interest in the collection of minerals and gem materials, and in the cutting and polishing of gem materials, and related arts; to disseminate knowledge of lapidary arts, mineralogy, collecting and classification of minerals and fossils, and their application in the arts, so that greater pleasure may be derived from these hobbies, and to actively protect gemstone and mineral resources for hobby use, including the location and acquisition of mining claims and properties for noncommercial purposes.
